Conditions We Treat
Riesgraf Chiropractic is here to help you achieve relief from severe injuries and pain.
Auto Injuries
Chiropractic adjustments after auto accidents do decrease pain across the entirety of the body. This relief is the result of a pain-reducing hormone emitted during spinal manipulations. Such hormones reduce the strain on the injured portion(s) of the body affected during and after the accident. Furthermore, these hormones help improve other parts of the body that might have proven painful before the crash.
Low Back Problems
People often want to try the kind of conservative approaches that chiropractors provide first. In fact, this is what many clinical care guidelines recommend. So before trying treatments like injections or surgery for back pain, they may want to consider chiropractic care, physical therapy, or acupuncture. Much of the time, back pain resolves with this kind of treatment.
Neck and Arm Pain
Chiropractic care offers effective relief for chronic neck and shoulder pain. With a holistic approach, chiropractors use their expertise in the musculoskeletal and nervous systems to identify the root cause of the pain and determine the most suitable treatment approach.
Personal Injuries
We will prioritize the restoration of mobility and the strengthening of your muscles to promote overall stability in your body. Following personal injury accidents, the neck and back are often affected. Even if you currently have no symptoms, a chiropractic assessment will guide your treatment to prevent potential complications in the future.
Sports Injuries
At Dr Riesgraf assist athletes by alleviating pain and accelerating healing post-injury. Regular visits contribute to faster recovery following games and training, while also enhancing balance and overall athletic performance.
Mid-Back and Rib Pain
Poor posture or repetitive activities can lead to mid and upper back pain, rib pain, and chest pain that may extend to the shoulder. Gradual onset and worsening over time indicate a likely cause, while sudden onset may be due to an injury or strain. This discomfort can affect the back, shoulders, chest, or ribs, causing stiffness and hindering daily tasks. Chiropractic care can help address and relieve these symptoms.
Work Injuries
Research indicates that chiropractic care following a work-related injury reduces recovery time, minimizes hospital admissions, and offers cost-effective benefits compared to traditional medical care. When it comes to work-related injuries, two primary objectives are pain management and facilitating a safe and prompt return to work. Chiropractic care plays a crucial role in achieving these objectives.
Arch and Foot Pain
For foot pain, relying on ineffective solutions like over-the-counter insoles or heel pads may not address the underlying issue. Assuming the cause is ill-fitting shoes, prolonged standing, or weight, you might overlook the need for medical attention. Chiropractic treatment can assist in identifying and addressing the root cause of foot pain.
Rotator Cuff Injuries
Chiropractic care is an excellent non-medical solution for spinal and shoulder joint issues that affect the resolution of rotator cuff problems. We utilize various treatments, such as ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, and heat and ice therapies, to address pain and inflammation associated with a rotator cuff tear.
Shoulder Tendonitis
Tendonitis of your shoulder is an inflammation of your rotator cuff or biceps tendon. Your rotator cuff consists of the muscles and tendons in your shoulder. They connect your upper arm bone to your shoulder blade.
Bursitis (hip, knee, elbow, shoulder)
Bursitis is inflammation of a bursa. A bursa is a closed, fluid-filled sac that works as a cushion and gliding surface to reduce friction between tissues of the body. The major bursae (this is the plural of bursa) are located next to the tendons near the large joints, such as in the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees.
Tennis Elbow
Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) is a painful condition that occurs when tendons in your elbow are overloaded, usually by repetitive motions of the wrist and arm.
Despite its name, athletes aren't the only people who develop tennis elbow. People whose jobs feature the types of motions that can lead to tennis elbow include plumbers, painters, carpenters and butchers.
Pinched Nerves
A pinched nerve occurs when too much pressure is applied to a nerve by surrounding tissues, such as bones, cartilage, muscles or tendons. This pressure can cause pain, tingling, numbness or weakness.
Heel Spurs
A heel spur is a bony growth that protrudes from the bottom of the heel where it connects to the plantar fascia. It affects approximately 15% of people and is often discovered when seeking treatment for heel pain. Surgical removal is an option, but non-surgical treatments are recommended by healthcare providers to alleviate heel spur symptoms.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve is compressed within the carpal tunnel—an opening in the wrist formed by the carpal bones and the transverse carpal ligament. The median nerve controls sensation and movement in the thumb and three middle fingers. Compression or irritation of the nerve can lead to symptoms.
Herniated Discs
A herniated disk is an injury of the spine (backbone). You have a series of bones (vertebrae) in your spine, stretching from the base of your skull to your tailbone. Between your vertebrae are round cushions called disks. The disks act as buffers between your bones, allowing you to bend and move with ease. When one of these disks tears or leaks, it’s called a herniated disk.
Sublaxation
Joint subluxation is a partial dislocation that can occur due to acute or repetitive motion injury, as well as certain medical conditions affecting ligament integrity. Treatment options include joint resetting, pain management, rehabilitation therapy, and, in severe cases, surgery.
Riesgraf Chiropractic is located on the SW corner of Highway 41 and Engler Blvd, behind the Holiday Station in Chaska.
